In 2020 two great books about his work have been published. “Dirty Diaries” and “Peter Klashorst: unauthorized Cambodia & Gambia. Some of the works now offered here are depicted in those books.

Klashorst usually works on several works at the same time. According to him: “The Art of painting is to stop (adding) in time”. If you love to paint as much as Peter, it is often difficult to stop at the right moment. It is easier when working on several works at the same time, one can switch, take a step back and have a good look.

Since the period that he lived in Cambodia for a long time, Klashorst has painted a lot on PVC (plastic canvas) Real canvas is sometimes hard to get there. The advantage of painting on PVC is that the colours look very beautiful and bright, whereas with canvas the colours are often quite dull.

This work on PVC is made in The Gambia in 2019.
